Telepathy - Is it Possible?!

Okay, picture this. You're thinking of something or someone.

You: "I wish I could meet Jo."

Jo: "Hey you, I heard you! Let's catch up."

Yep, without WhatsApp, Instagram, phone call or any texting/call services. You just think it and then it's suddenly sent to the other person. Crazy, right? Well, that's Telepathy.

Am I talking a sci-fi novel here? Nope. Way cooler.

This is non-fiction, my friend.

Let's dive into it!

Extrasensory Perception

Okay, so there's this bunch of information that can go in and out beyond your five senses. Am I talking sixth sense and intuition? Nah. It includes psi abilities like telepathy, clairvoyance (deriving information beyond your senses), and knowledge of future events. Basically, there's this entire realm of superhuman superhero ability and bummer - you've never used it. I'm not even joking.

"I Can Read Your Mind."

Have you ever just looked at someone and read their mind? Their emotions, their intentions, their behavior. Well, this is because there are neurons (nerve cells) that act as mirrors to others. This is short distance, but can this also work for a longer distance? Yes, it can!

Brain-to-Brain Communication

There was this experiment when a person in India said 'hola' and 'ciao' to three people in France. That was for a study of brains and it was neither texted, typed or spoken. Crazy? Spooky? Amazing? Tell me about it!

Another study hypothesizes that the human brain acts as a filter preventing psi abilities, but does that mean it's impossible? Nope.

In a third study, scientists have been working on sorting out brain waves to set up this brain-to-brain interface. By combining EEG (electroencephalography - a method to detect brainwaves) and TMS (transcranial magnetic stimulation), scientists transmitted the thought of moving a hand from one person to a separate individual.

Future Advancements

So someday in the near future, I think there'll be some point of time when you'll be thinking something and it will be delivered to the opposite person. But until this amusing superpower is brought to light, until this bizarrely entertaining breakthrough in unlocked, I guess we'll let social media and telecommunications live their prime.
