How can you time travel?

Well, I wish I could give you a foot long recipe of how to make a 'time travelling machine' and then ask you to step in and poof! You go wherever, sorry, when-ever you want. 

But there's more to time travel than just that.

Well, you can call it the Time Travel Paradox.

But first, let's look at Einstein's Theory of Relativity.

Einstein's Theory of Relativity

According to this theory, time and space form a four-dimensional fabric called spacetime. Curves in the fabric created by stars cause us to experience gravity. theory says that time and space are linked together. He also mentioned how the universe is like a road, and with every road comes a speed limit. The speed limit for ours for 3.0 x 10^8 m/s that is the speed of light. Imagine travelling at a fast speed and watching a clock ticking away at a distance. Well, it gets slower the faster you travel and that’s basically what it states. Time is like an illusion that is relative to who the observer is. If the observer is travelling really fast, the time experienced will be really slow.

Future

Imagine you are on a spaceship traveling at almost the speed of light. Up there, time feels normal to you, but if you video call someone from Earth and show them your clock, it would be ticking WAY more slowly. If you were to travel at this speed for what feels like one year to you, much more time—perhaps several years—would have passed on Earth.

Past

Don't we all want to just go to the past and tell ourselves, "Hey don't do this!" or "Do that instead." I mean we all want to, but travelling to the past is trickier. It requires a theoretic tunnel called a 'wormhole' (no jokes) that connects different moments and locations to each other.

Theories And Paradoxes

Well, there are several theories and paradoxes related to time travel. Especially to the past. Like the Grandfather Paradox that states that if my grandfather doesn't marry my grandmother, I wouldn't exist. I mean, the universe has to have some mechanism to balance out the change in the past and the future that follows. As seen, these alterations can bring in logical inconsistencies and the only solution to such things would be an alternate timeline.

Is it possible?

Picasso once said that everything you can imagine is real. Sci-fi novels and movies have time travel and while travelling to the future is a possibility, going back to the past is still under research. But for all the Doctor Who fans out there, I'm sure, very soon, with the emerging technology, we will get a TARDIS too and get to strategize our past, jump to the future, and mess around with time until it's not too bad, not too good, just perfect (yes Goldilocks, we'll warn you about the house of the three bears too).
